Eric N. Marton
MANAGING DIRECTOR
THREE-SIXTY ADVISORY GROUP

Eric N. Marton has more than 25 years experience starting, growing, leading and advising organizations in healthcare and beyond. Eric is a Managing Director at Three-Sixty Advisory Group and a Venture Partner at its sister company, Wavemaker 360 Health – a venture capital firm focused on innovations that drive value-base care.

In early 2016, Eric was recruited by the private equity firm BlueMountain Capital to serve as Chief Strategy Officer of their newly acquired Verity Health (formerly the Daughters of Charity) – a $1.5 billion health system with six hospital campuses, more than 2000 affiliated physicians, and numerous ambulatory centers throughout northern and southern California. Concurrently, Eric was CEO of the Verity Medical Foundation (a physician organization with ~500 MDs) and CEO of the Verity subsidiary, Surgical Partners of California (an ASC management company with 12 centers).  After a substantive turnaround of the health system, Eric worked closely with BlueMountain and NantWorks (led by Dr. Patrick Soon Shiong) to facilitate NantWorks’ acquisition of Verity and to launch innovative clinical programs in a number of subspecialty areas.

Prior to joining Verity, Eric served as an executive director at Cedars-Sinai Health System, where he led efforts to craft a new Institute-model for specialty care, starting with the creation of the Cedars-Sinai Heart Institute. That entity became the largest and most highly ranked heart center in the Western United States with >$500 million in net revenue for FY16 (his final year there). While at Cedars-Sinai, Eric also worked with the Cedars-Sinai Medical Care Foundation to expand its scope to include all medical subspecialties and to become the primary vehicle for physician engagement at the health system.

Eric’s experience includes managed care/payor contract negotiation for the University of California at its San Francisco and Los Angeles campuses. Eric was also the head of international contracting for UCLA Health. Aside from his work with large health systems, Eric has served as a member of the Board of Directors for numerous companies and as a consultant to healthcare and VC/private equity organizations.  From 1999 to 2005, Eric served as Managing Partner of Catalyst Venture Group. In this capacity, Eric was responsible for a portfolio of healthcare, technology, public-private partnership, and infrastructure investments in the US and around the world.

Among other community activities, Eric is a frequent guest lecturer for the schools of business, medicine, and public policy at the University of California Los Angeles and at the University of Southern California. This past year, Eric also gave talks at the California-Israel Medical Technology Summit at Oracle Corp. and at the Precision Medicine World Conference in Silicon Valley.
